The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC) is a nonprofit that plans, manages, and operates the growing medical center in downtown Buffalo. Located near Buffalo’s East Side, the BNMC recognized the need for a more comprehensive approach to manage demand for parking. They sought solutions to reduce their impact on the immediate neighborhood and, in turn, the environment at large.

With the guidance of GO Buffalo Niagara, the BNMC rebuilt their Healthy Commuter Benefits program. Employees now have incentives to choose active and sustainable transportation options. Benefits include pre-tax discounted transit passes, secure indoor bike parking facilities, a commuter rewards program, and other initiatives. All these efforts aim to reduce reliance on personal vehicles.

With the reworked benefits program, the BNMC is lowering its carbon footprint and minimizing congestion in the area. They are also helping to build a healthier and more sustainable community. Through the collaboration with GO Buffalo Niagara, BNMC is making a positive impact on public health and the environment, all while improving the overall commuting experience for their employees and students on the campus.
